The people behind the atlas

A.CAB is built and kept up by volunteers who work in harm reduction.

Molly Watson

Founder of A.CAB

I co-lead the substance analysis program at Queen City Harm Reduction in Charlotte, North Carolina, and I build open tools that help people who use drugs stay safer.

I started A.CAB because finding drug checking shouldn’t take insider knowledge. It’s a free, community-maintained directory of drug checking services across the United States and Canada: walk-in sites, event teams, mobile outreach and mail-in labs. Every listed service has told us it keeps nothing that could identify you with your sample.

Alongside A.CAB I work on open drug-information tools: SubstanceSearch, where I’ve added substance statistics, trip-report sections and a careful audit of dosage data, and SideChain, a public chemical dictionary for drug checking built with the UNC Street Drug Analysis Lab and partners, which I’m one of the authors of.
